Squall is very anti-social, which costs him many friendships, and he also dislikes anyone trying to get into his own affairs. Because of this, Squall has the reputation of being like a "lone wolf".

Rinoa Heartilly

Rinoa is very light-hearted, and loves to express her feelings to other people. She is constantly open, and can always tell anyone anything because of her openness. Rinoa sparks an interest between her and Squall, forcing Squall to reveal his true feelings for her.

Seifer Almasy

Seifer was Squall's enemy basically from birth. He understands Squall's strength, and is therefore determined to become stronger than him, no matter what the cost. Therefore, Seifer is constantly challenging Squall to put his strength to the test.

Bio:
Laguna was a Galbadian soldier in his younger years, but he then turned into a journalist, to write about his travels around the world. Laguna is a strong leader, despite his habit of getting his friends and himself lost in the middle of nowhere. Squall experiences Laguna when he falls in a "dream-like" state.

Zell joined Balamb Garden's students at a young age to become a SeeD, so he can become like his grandfather, who is his hero. Zell is very protective of things he cares for, and will therefore defend his friends no matter what. Although he may seem careless, and he always wants to get revenge, he actually well focused, and knows right from wrong.

Quistis Trepe

Quistis joined Balamb Garden at a very young age like almost everybody else, and became a SeeD at the age of 15. At the age of 17, she obtained her teacher liscence to teach.

Just as her childish appearance depicts, Selphie is acts very much like a child. Although it seems to be hidden behind her choice of words which usually include YAHOO!!! or YAY!!!, Selphie is usually always serious when it comes to getting the job done. Selphie is also very emotional, and therefore, she can become depressed, or even extremely revengeful when it comes to certain things.

Irvine Kinneas

Known as the best gunsman in any Garden around the world, Irvine has perfect accuracy. Although he may have perfect accuracy with a gun, the direct opposite applies when he tries to pick up girls. Despite his efforts, Irvine can never get a girl. And in the process of trying to pick up Selphie, Quistis, or Rinoa, he tends to lead Zell into pure anger, making Zell just want to bash Irvine in the face. However, despite the first impression that he only seems to be interested in guns, and girls, he is very serious, and focused when it comes to life or death situations.
